Step 1
Find the Thrift Stores in your area. The best bets are The Salvation Army and Goodwill Thrift Stores. Go to there websites to find the location and hours. Most stores usually have a half price day so find out when that is to get the best deals.
-
Step 2
Know what brands and sizes do well on eBay. High end designer brands obviously sell the best. Brands like True Religion, Paige Premium, Citizens of Humanity, Rag & Bone and 7 for all Mankind. Other brands if you can get a good price (Lucky Brand, Hollister, Maternity Jeans, Diesel)
-
Step 3
Do research before you go to know how to make sure the jeans are 100% Authentic. Do a search in the reviews and guide section of eBay and type in the brand name plus the word fake. You will find out what to look for to tell if the jeans are the real deal.
-
Step 4
When you get to the thrift store it depends on the setup and your preference, but I usually start going up the racks with the jeans facing me so I can see the inside tag. If you can not see the inside tag look for the brand name on the buttons or the back label. Once you find a pair make sure it is authentic and check it over to make sure there are no unintentional rips or stains.
-
Step 5
You are now ready to get your jeans ready to sell on eBay. Make sure you take a picture of the jeans lying flat (you may not want to use this as your gallery picture, I recommend a close up picture of the label) Also take pictures of the back pockets, the inside tags, the back tag, the buttons and the bottom of the jeans.
Measure the jeans for the inseam, waist, front rise, waist, hips, and leg openings. -
Step 6
You are now ready to create your eBay listing.
Use the abbreviation EUC for Excellent Used Condition in the title along with the designer brand name, size, and the specific name of the jeans if it has one.
Make sure you offer internationl shipping because jeans are big sellers overseas. Depending on the size and how heavy the jeans are setting the calculated shipping weight at 1 lb 12 oz is usually a safe bet. Ship in tear proff poly mailers that you can get cheap on eBay.
Start the jeans at a low price with No Reserve. Chances are you got them really cheap at the Thrift Shop that any bids will be a profit.
eBay is more fun with No Reserve Auctions. The way it was meant to be.
