A themed Belly Dancing party can be fun for children and adults alike.

The goal is to throw a party that is centered around a belly dancing theme. As the host, you will need to plan and prepare for the party a couple of weeks in advance.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Invite an all girl guest list to the belly dancing style party.

    This will ensure that no boys will be in sight to judge any girls body types or dance moves. In order to make your party guests feel comfortable it is essential that no males are invited or permitted to be at the Belly dancing party.

    Males can have a themed, all boy party anytime that they want so they shouldn't feel so left out.

    Check out the links in the resources section of this article for more information about throwing themed parties for boys, girls, children and adults.

    When inviting the girls to your party ask them to bring a comfy outfit to wear while belly dancing. If the party is also a sleepover then remind the girls to bring comfortable pajamas and anything else that they might need.

  2. Step 2

    While you are reading this article, keep a pen and paper nearby and write down any "belly dance" ideas that come to you (and brainstorm).

    In addition, now is a great time for you to make your shopping list.

    Write down any food, drinks, party supplies, etc. that you will need for the party.

  3. Step 3

    To mirror or not to mirror? That is the question.

    Try to host the party in a room with a large mirror. It is way better to practice dancing if you can actually see yourself moving in a mirror.

    If you don't have access to a large mirror similar to one that might be used in a dancing studio, then you can bring smaller mirrors into the room where you will throw the party. Then prop the mirrors up against the farthest wall, out of the way from where everyone will be dancing!

    You don't want somebody to cut or hurt themselves because of a broken mirror at your party. Due to the high risk of danger, it wouldn't hurt to completely leave the mirror idea out of the party plans.

    Take special precautions when dancing around mirrors to make sure that nobody hurts themselves!

  4. Step 4

    Set the belly dancing mood.

    The setting should consist of the following items :

    * A large fancy rug

    * Different sized, shaped and colored candles (Place candles on sturdy tables, out of the way from where everyone will be dancing! Be very careful when using candles. Keep any lighters or matches far away from the reach of children! Only adults should work with fire and candles! Use extreme caution!)

    * Instead of the regular chairs, a bellydancing party can use seats such as : pillows, beanbags, folded up blankets, etc. (Toss these "seats" all over the clean floor and use them as decorations and chairs for the party.)

  5. Step 5

    Plan the food for the party around the belly dancing theme.

    Try the following ideas :

    * Finger foods

    * Egyptian foods

    * Egyptian beverages

    * Egyptian snacks

    Of course, there isn't anything wrong with ordering pizzas for the party and serving all of the regular party foods and drinks.

  6. Step 6

    Buy plenty of extra bottled waters for the party and keep them in the fridge to get them cold. This way, any of your guests can easily grab a drink of water whenever they need to. It's important for you and your guests to stay hydrated while dancing!

  7. Step 7

    Plan fun activities for your belly dancing party.

    Check out the local craft supply stores in your area. Look for belly dancing related items to make jewelry and outfits with such as :

    * Beads
    * Ribbons
    * Coins, etc.

  8. Step 8

    Go to your local, party supply super store, check to see if they carry any belly dancing themed items including :

    * Streamers
    * Cups
    * Plates
    * Banners
    * Party favors
    * Decorations,
    * Other party supplies, etc.

  9. Step 9

    Belly dancing party activity # 1 :

    You and all of your guests can make belly dancing outfits and costumes at the beginning of your party. Guests can wear these outfits for the remainder of your party. If everyone is dressed like a belly dancer it will give your guests an overall sense of the belly dance feel.

    The decision is up to you, whether or not you would like to let your guests keep their belly dancing costumes that they created. However, if you are willing to part with all of the materials that you had bought in order for these costumes to be made, your guests will be able to take something special away from your party that they can enjoy for years to come.

    Check out the link in the resources section of this article for more information about creating belly dancing costumes.

  10. Step 10

    Belly dancing party activity # 2 :

    After you are all dressed up like belly dancers, you and all of your guests can get together and style each others hair to look even more like a belly dancer.

    Do you need a fun activity that will make everyone look and feel more like a bellydancer but won't take up too much money?

    Buy strings, beads, charms, coins, clips, ribbons, etc. and guests can make their own belly dancer hair clips and hair decorations.

    Look for sale items and you should be able to find a good amount of "jewelry making accessories" for less than $20.00.

  11. Step 11

    Belly dancing party activity # 3 :

    You can buy extra materials from the craft store and then the guests can make their own belly dancing jewelry that they can take home with them. Guests can decorate their bodies with henna, temporary body tattoos or body paints.

  12. Step 12

    Belly dancing party activity # 4 :

    Buy some extra makeup or buy each girl her own makeup kit. Take turns putting makeup on all the girls if they are young. If the girls are older then let them put make up on each other. This is a super fun, super girly, bonding experience.

    It would be nice if you could put together a gift bag for each girl and fill it with goodies including : jewelry, bracelets, rings, necklaces or make up such as dark lipstick, black eye liner, blue eyeshadow, etc.

    You could also add candy, prizes and other treats to the gift bag.

  13. Step 13

    Belly dancing party activity # 5 :

    Now that your all dressed for the occasion, it's time to belly dance!

    Whether you have a large mirror or not, line everybody up as if you were in a real dance studio. Stand in the front, facing everyone. Begin to give the girls belly dancing instructions.

    You will all have so much fun while your laughing, dancing and goofing around.

  14. Step 14

    Belly dancing party activity # 6 :

    Rent or buy belly dancing themed movies and instructional videos.

    You can find belly dancer videos for sale on the web or rent some from Netflix for the party.

    While everyone is watching the belly dance instructions they can also get up and dance and learn the moves as a group.

  15. Step 15

    Don't forget to take pictures of everyone while they are all dressed up like a belly dancer and dancing!

    After the party is over you can buy "picture doubles" or develop two sets of pictures so that you can give everyone a picture of themselves all decked out in belly dancing gear.

    Have Fun!
