1. Make sure that your plan at least six months in advance.

2. Then make sure that you have a well laid out plan about organizing the tournament.

3. Give adequate and ample opportunities for the sponsor to advertise.

4. Have at least one big name golf player to play in the tournament and if that is not possible then at least have that top player giveaway prizes.

5. Make sure that you cover you bases well and have a main sponsor and an associate sponsor.

6. Once they agree on the sponsorship get the contract ready and get is signed and sealed so that if the corporate backs off you still have recourse to legal methods.
