We are all getting older, but there are some things we can do to slow the biological aging process. These steps are easy to take and can not only add years to your life, but can also improve the quality of your life.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

One of the first things you can do to slow the aging process is to start an anti aging diet. You should increase the amount of antioxidants in your diet by adding Omega 3 fatty acids and vitamins A, C, and E. Increasing antioxidants in your diet can prevent wrinkles, lower cholesterol and high blood pressure, and keep your mind sharp.

  2. Step 2

Add some herbal tea to your diet. Many herbal teas contain antioxidants that can slow the aging process. Try a tea that contains peppermint, rosemary, lemon balm, or sage. You can easily make your own by adding the herbs to hot water, steeping for 10 minutes, and then staining it before you drink.

  3. Step 3

Always be learning something new to slow the aging process. If you don't exercise your brain, you could be setting yourself up for memory problems. Do crossword puzzles, learn a new language or musical instrument, or take a college course to keep your mind young.

  4. Step 4

Have sex to slow the aging process. Studies have shown that men and women who have frequent sex tend to live longer and are happier. Men who have sex more often lower their risk of prostate cancer and women, according to Dr. Mehmet Oz, can live up to three years longer.

  5. Step 5

Try to stay thin to slow the aging process. Some studies have shown that people who eat fewer calories tend to live longer and healthier lives.

  6. Step 6

Exercise frequently to slow the aging process. Exercise can help to keep your figure trim, your mind sharp, your cholesterol low, and your energy and strength levels up. It can be as simple as walking 30 minutes every day, doing some yoga, and light weight lifting.

  7. Step 7

Stop smoking and drinking heavily. Smoking will sped up instead of slowing the aging process. It can lead to several different cancers as well as wrinkles. A glass or two of wine a day is actually good for you, but alcohol in access can cause many medical problems.

  8. Step 8

Wear a broad spectrum sunscreen when you go out side. This will protect your skin from damaging rays that could lead to skin cancer, pigment spots, and wrinkles.

  9. Step 9

Practice good dental hygiene. Taking care of your gums can add years to your life. People who have gum disease are at a higher risk of heart disease and stroke. Floss regularly and see your dentist every six months to slow the aging process.

  10. Step 10

Get a physical once a year. You might feel fine, but some health problems are silent killers. Your doctor can check for skin cancers, high cholesterol, diabetes, and many other disease that can be treated to help you live longer.

  11. Step 11

Have fun and live life to the fullest each day to slow the aging process. We are never guaranteed tomorrow, so live today and be happy that you are alive.
