Make a Paper Gift Bag
Make a Paper Gift Bag

Spring is here and with it comes many celebrations, spring break from school and just getting out to visit those we haven't seen all winter. For whatever the occasion, everyone will enjoy a small token of friendship so I have put together this very easily constructed gift bag. This Spring gift bag is made using minimal pieces. To make a batch for school children or a few friends, start with a template. This makes the cutting very easy and quicker. I had on hand mainly pink items left over from a baby shower card so I used the pink for this bag. Use different spring colors of your choice.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • white paper lunch bag
  • pink foam paper
  • pink marker
  • pink ribbon
  • googly eyes
  • cotton ball
  • glue
  1. Step 1

Start with a template of the bunny ears. Using a piece of cardstock or cardboard that is the same width of the bag draw out two bunny ears. CUT around the ears.

  2. Step 2

Place the template on a white bag that is flat on a table. With a pencil trace the ears.

  3. Step 3

Cut the ears. Open the bag and cut off the odd shapes left on the SIDE of the bag.

  4. Step 4

(INSIDE EARS) With the foam paper, cut out two teardrop shapes for the inside of the ear . Glue them on.

  5. Step 5

(NOSE)Cut an oval shape of foam paper. Glue it ¼ inch below the middle of the bag.

  6. Step 6

(EYES) Place googly eyes towards top of bag making a somewhat even looking bunny face. If eyes are not available use a black marker to make an eye, and then use white paint or write out (office supply) to make a white dot on the eye.

  7. Step 7

Draw in eyelashes, and below the nose a line down, and two hook shapes, one left one right. Add three hairline dots on each cheek.

  8. Step 8

(HANDLE) With a hole puncher, punch out two holes on the corner of the bag below the ears.

  9. Step 9

Insert an end of a ribbon on one side and tie a knot so it won't come out. Do the same on the other side.

  10. Step 10

Glue a cotton ball on the back side of the bag.

  11. Step 11

Fill the bag with baked treats, candy, small toys or playing cards.

Tips & Warnings
  • FELT material can be used in place of a paper bags. Sew or glue two white felt pieces together to the shape of a bag, square or rectangular.
