How to Design & Buy Cheerleading Uniforms

  1. Step 1

Find a vendor your trust by asking previous squad leaders, coaches, local business listing and Internet providers. Ask for samples, styles and costs.

  2. Step 2

Select a vendor that meets your quality demands and financial budget.

  3. Step 3

Meet with your team to vote on the style--the number of pleats in the skirt, sleeve length and bust styles.

  4. Step 4

Determine the color combination for the design as well as and how you want it to be displayed. Determine the base color and style for the top of the uniform first.

  5. Step 5

Add various stripe patterns to the top. Your team will need to agree to either maintain complete uniformity or to allow squad members to vary slightly to accentuate their own body highlights.

  6. Step 6

Determine the size and placement of your school logo or mascot on the uniform. Many times this will need to be added after you receive the uniforms.

  7. Step 7

Determine the pleat number for the skirts and their color blends.

  8. Step 8

Have the squad members take and give their measurements to ensure proper ordering. Place the order, then examine it closely to make sure it meets your specifications.
