Are you ready to grow tomatillo plants? If you love salsa verde (green sauce) on tacos, enchiladas or meats, then you will want to grow your own tomatillos.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A warm place with sun and good drainage.
  1. Step 1

In a garden bed or pot, place the tomatillo seeds about 1/4 of an inch under the ground. If you want to be safe, stick a toothpick next to the seed so you won't think the seedling is a weed.

  2. Step 2

Water the dirt. The seedling should appear above the ground within a few days.

  3. Step 3

Be sure to have at least two tomatillo plants near each other. This is because tomatillo plants require another plant of the same species in order to give fruit. A solitary tomatillo plant may not give any fruit.

  4. Step 4

Fertilize and add water. Make sure the plant is kept warm and has good drainage.

  5. Step 5

When the tomatillos appear, harvest them and pull off the husk to use them in your favorite dish.
