Do your kids love Kool-Aid and playing with playdough? Here is a recipe that allows you and your children to combine the best of both worlds! My kids love the way their hands smell after!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 packages unsweetened Kool-Aid
  1. Step 1

Set up 2 large childproof mixing bowls, each with a large mixing spoon. This way each child can take part in the playdough making process.

  2. Step 2

In one bowl let your child mix together the salt and flour until smooth.

  3. Step 3

In the second bowl let another child (or yourself) to mix together the oil and boiling water. Make sure they mix slowly otherwise you will have a table covered with oil and water!

  4. Step 4

Now it is your turn! Slap on a pair of gloves and pour the liquid mixture slowly into the dry mixture and combine until completely combined.

  5. Step 5

Knead mixture on cutting board (to prevent staining table or counter) for 5 minutes. Its a little work-out, perfect to work off snack time cookies I deny having :)

  6. Step 6

You are now ready to play! Refrigerate playdough after use for tomorrow!

Tips & Warnings
  • Try using different colored Kool-Aids for more fun
  • The boiling water is very very hot and can cause harm if spilt on yourself or your child. Only allow your child to help with this step under careful supervision.
