   If you are buying a first time guitar i would suggest getting a starter pack because they are cheap and if you decide to stop playing it for some reason you did not waste your money. Another reason to get a starter pack is becasue it comes with an amp, cables, picks, and tuners.

   For you guitarist who are looking into upgrading your guitar that you already have get a guitar thats made for the style of music that you want to play. For example if you want to play heavy metal music don't buy a classical guitar. Also buy a guitar that looks good in your eyes.

   The next thing that you can do when buying a guitar is buy the best quality guitar that you can afford. YOu usually can get a great quality guitar for under $500.

4. 

   The next best thing that you can do when buying a new guitar is going to your local guitar center or music store and check out the guitars yourself becasue you can see and hear what you want.
