Things You'll Need:
- Determination
- Time
-
Step 1
Cutting monthly bills can take time, but if you can do it, you can save a lot of money. Some bills may be tough to cut, because of the pleasures they provide, but again, it will be worth it. So here we go...
-
Step 2
If your internet is fast, you can cancel your cable TV bill. Sites like Hulu.com allow you to watch all TV shows online, for free! I realize that it is an inconvenience to not watch TV show on a TV, but by watching them on a computer, you can save over $100 per month.
-
Step 3
A bill that is easy to cut is your landline. You probably do most of your calling on your cell phone anyway. Plus, services like Google Talk and Skype allow you to make video phone calls over the internet for free.
-
Step 4
If you rent a lot of movies, or go out to the theaters a lot, you can easily cut back on that. Check with your local library...they often offer movies to rent for as little as 25 cents per movie.
-
Step 5
Utility bills can be lowered as well. By simply making sure all your lights are turned off whenever you're not using them, you can save $30 per month. And depending on how disciplined you are with the A/C and heater, you can save much more.
I hope these ideas help! They've worked for me! -

on 11/16/2009 Step 4. Save even more and have a broader selection by downloading torrents of the movies you want, sure the quality isn't as great as DVD, but it's acceptable and you'll save $$$.
Step 5. Switch to CFL (compact florescent lights) bulbs.
