These days cellphones allow us to get creative with unique wallpapers, people's pictures and what not! Although finding the right pictures is not hard, a search for ringtons can leave us weary.Most websites either ask you to pay an amount for it or locks downloading so that first you register. So this leaves us with plenty of time just to waste in typing. No worries! There is another way you can get a ringtone and what is special about it is that you make your own. Read below to know how.

Things You'll Need:

Any song in mp3, wma or ogg format.
Computer and internet access.
Cellphone's picture messaging system enabled

Step 1

Download the song to your computer. Make sure it is in mp3, wma or ogg format.
Step 2

Go to www.makeownringtone.com and by using upload button get the song to the site.
Step 3

Once uploaded, play the song to see which part of it you want as your ringtone.
Step 4

Click on the red marker to mark the desired starting point.
Step 5

After the slection use the green marker to mark the ending point.
Step 6

Click on selected to hear how the part you have chosen sounds.
Step 7

If the part sounds perfect click on make a ringtone button for downloading.
Step 8

To send the song to your cellphone use your email address. That is, first download the ringtone to your computer. Go to your email account and in a new email attach the ringtone and send it to your cellphone email address.

After half an hour the ringtone should be available on your cellphone as a picture message.

Save it to your ringtone folder. There, now all you have to do is follow directions of your cellphone to fit the ringtone in the desired area which can be either your default ringtone or assigning it for a specific number.
