These guidelines will help you to learn what to do to enhance your life and others around you using proper etiquette. Many people can easily teach someone these traits that will help them throughout life. If you know these pass them on and share them with another person any chance you have.

Difficulty: Moderate

Whether it is at your place of business or in your family life, etiquette is not only appreciated by others, but will fulfill your life as well. Thinking of others needs and wants is a very good starting point. When you are observant of another person, you can see ways to be courteous and helpful. Then comes the introduction of acting on those that lead us to exercising etiquette.

  2. Step 2

These hints are for men and women. We can also teach children as we are mentors for them through our actions. If you approach a door, hold it open for the person who is entering or exiting that opening. Taking the time to consider another person is being polite.

  3. Step 3

Thank you is always trendy, so is consideration for another. When notes of appreciation are thought about, it does not matter how long the time is that has lapsed, that pleasant act of etiquette will be appreciated.

  4. Step 4

When a person comes to visit you, treating them with kindness will make them feel very important if you turn off or mute the TV. If you are talking on the phone when someone arrives at your door, try to end your conversation quickly saying you will call back later because you have company.

  5. Step 5

A the dinner table, serving others first, before yourself is using proper etiquette. Anytime you put others first, you will be an honored guest or host by taking a lead to serve others. Offering help to clear a table or assist in other ways, is another way to be polite, be appreciative and feel good about your good manners and proper etiquette.

  6. Step 6

Good electronic etiquette is so very well needed in our world since cell phones are part of most of our lives. If you are with a group of people who are concentrating on some issue, it is widely encouraged to let your voice mail or answering service pick up your calls for that duration. If you are expecting an emergency call at any time, another person can be summoned to receive that call on your behalf. When the cell phone rings, go somewhere that you can take your call. This will allow others their privacy too by you leaving to a suitable place to talk. Certain places are taboo for cell phones even to be turned to receive calls. During religious ceremonies of any type, while being examined at the Dr. office and others that I am sure you can add.

  7. Step 7

Common sense is part of good etiquette. Thinking of others needs and comforts can get you thinking of many additions, I am sure.
