Things You'll Need:
- Leather Cleaner or Some type of Degreaser Product
- Old rag
- Brillo Pad or Two
-
Step 1
Go to the grocery store and purchase a pleasantly scented degreasing/leather cleaning solution. You can also select car cleaning products that are specifically made for this purpose, but I found that they don't hide or remove the smoke smell as well as products that are strongly scented.
-
Step 2
Place a Brillo or scrubbing pad inside of an old rag and spray it with your cleaning solution. The rag prevents the solution from squeezing out of the scrubbing pad all over the place.
-
Step 3
Place the Brillo pad over the steering wheel and using a relatively firm grip, scrub the wheel over the entire surface. Repeat if necessary. You will notice an immediate change in not only smell of your steering wheel, but in the look as well. The more the vehicle has been smoked in, the more times this may have to be repeated.

on 4/4/2009 Haha. I didn't actually smell my steering wheel. I bought a truck that was owned previously by a person who smoked (a lot). So the smoke smell was imbeded into my steering wheel and it drove me crazy because the smell would end up on my hands every time I'd drive somewhere. So I had to find a way to get it off. About my dog picture - I actually don't remember. Its been so long since I took that picture. I doubt its corn, she is much more of a ham eater.
