Whenever you have a head injury take it seriously. A person with a head injury or a minor bump or hit to the head may seem okay but in reality they are not.

      If a person is hit in the head someone there should perform a quick mental examine to make sure he or she is not suffering from confusion or memory loss, concussion or internal bleeding.
      This is done by asking simple questions (math and knowledge questions). Use your finger and ask the person to follow it with their eyes.

      A person doesn't have to be passed out to have a serious jury, the person could be standing with his or her eyes open with a glazed look.

      If the person has confusion ,sleepiness, dizziness, memory loss, nausea, anything to signal that the brain is malfunctioning should not be take lightly. Call 911 and get the person to a hospital right away.

      With traumatic brain injuries the ability to help the person lies within the first hour, then its a little less in the second hour, less than that in the third, so the faster we get them medical attention the better their chances are of surviving the ordeal.
