There are thousands of business schools that offer MBAs across America. If you plan to distinguish yourself you will need to attend a better business school than the average graduate. An Emory MBA may be just the thing you need. Emory University is one of the top schools in the country, and the business school is highly ranked and prestigious. Not everyone can achieve an Emory MBA, but if you are smarter than the rest, you owe it to yourself to try.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The Emory MBA is offered at Emory University’s Goizueta (Goy-Zwey-Tah) School of Business. The school was named after former Coca Cola President, Robert Goizueta. In addition to the much sought after Goizueta MBA, the school also offers BBAs and PhDs in business. The Goizueta Business School is consistently ranked in the top 20 in the nation; therefore, gaining entry is no easy task.

  2. Step 2

According to the Goizueta Business School’s admissions policies, there is no one specific profile for entry into the Emory MBA program. However, there are certain characteristics that current and former graduates share. And of course, there are minimum requirements. The first requirement is to hold an undergraduate degree with an extremely strong GPA

  3. Step 3

Typically, Emory MBA graduates have years of experience in the business world. Upon obtaining your bachelor’s degree, you should try to find a position in a company that offers tuition reimbursement. This will help you in two ways: 1) You will get the experience you need & 2) You may be able to have your company foot the bill for your education.

  4. Step 4

Find an accomplished and reputable mentor in your company and always follow their lead. When the time comes for you to apply to the Emory MBA program, you can utilize this individual to write a letter of recommendation. Follow the same procedure with your supervisor, former professor, etc.

  5. Step 5

Get into leadership roles at school and work whenever you can. You can accomplish this by taking advantage of any open leadership posts at your undergraduate school and by jumping at any opportunity for management roles at work. Emory MBA students are chosen for entry into the program for their demonstrated leadership ability.

  6. Step 6

Finally, you should make certain that your GMAT scores are top notch. Even though Goizueta claims that there is no minimum score required for entry into the Emory MBA program, a look at the GMAT scores of accepted students will reveal the story. You need to score in the upper 600s or above to gain entry. If you have followed all of these guidelines you will be a strong contender for entry into the Emory MBA program.

Tips & Warnings
  • If admitted, you can complete the Emory MBA by going to school in various formats:
  • Two-year full-time MBA
  • One-year full-time MBA
  • Weekend Executive MBA
  • Modular Executive MBA and
  • Evening MBA.
  • Entry into the Emory MBA program is highly competitive. Even if you are an accomplished candidate there is no guarantee of admission.
