How to Find Girl Scout Cookies

Girl Scout cookies are one of those perennial treats that everyone loves. Those refreshing Thin Mints, peanutty Do-Si-Dos, and tropical coconut-sprinkled Samoas - everyone has their favorites. Many people would like to buy Girl Scout cookies, but don't know where to find them or when the Girl Scouts will be out selling them. This article answers these important questions so everyone can get in on the Girl Scout cookie craze.

1. Point your web browser to http://www.girlscoutcookies.org. The Girl Scout Cookies.org home page displays.

2. On the left-hand side of the the Girl Scout Cookies.org home page, note the Girl Scouts' mission in selling its namesake cookies: to provide an entrepreneurial program for girls. Note that proceeds from the purchase of Girl Scout cookies go to support Girl Scouts in your community.

3. On the right-hand side of the Girl Scout Cookies.org home page, enter your zip code and click Find Cookies. A contact form displays.

4. Fill in contact information including e-mail address and first name. Home phone number is optional.

5. If you would like to receive newsletters from the Girl Scouts of America, check the Opt-In for GSUSA newsletters checkbox.

6. Click Submit. The form now changes to the Find cookies now! box. Note that a representative of the Girl Scouts will contact you.

7. Click Visit Council Cookie Site. A new window displays, showing the home page of your local Girl Scout council.

8. The Girl Scout local council home page will display information on how to find Girl Scout cookies. The site may have a banner that says, "Find a Booth Sale! Cookie Locator" or "Click Here for Cookie Info."

9. Click the banner or the link to the Cookie Locator. A new window displays, showing the Little Brownie Bakers website (http://cookielocator.littlebrownie.com).

10. Enter your zip code.

11. Click the Search within drop-down list and select the maximum distance you'd like to travel for your Girl Scout cookies.

12. Click Locate Cookies. A calendar displays, showing the dates and places your local Girl Scout council will be selling Girl Scout cookies.

13. Select the day on which you would like to purchase your Girl Scout cookies, then click the location of preference. A new page displays, showing the address of the location, a map, and the times when the Girl Scouts will be out selling those addicting Girl Scout cookies.
