When you are on the website, click on the city in which you reside. Or click on the closest major city to yours.
-
Step 3
In the left hand side of the website you will see a 'Search Craigslist' option that will search for items for sale. Type in 'tv' or 'television' and hit the arrow button.
-
Step 4
Now a list will pull up for TV sets that are being sold locally. To find cheap TVs, look toward the top of the page, you want to enter in the 'Max' price that you are willing to pay and hit enter on your keyboard. Now the search results will narrow down by price.

Step 5
Review the listings and search for ones where the seller may be moving soon or listings that say OBO (meaning 'or best offer') and call to negotiate a lower price.
Once you have negotiated with the seller, choose a time where you can come over to make sure that the TV works and to pick it up. Remember to bring cash when you going to buy the TV set as most people will only sell items for cash. -
Step 6
If you are not comfortable going online to find cheap TVs, then try your local Goodwill or Salvation Army. Most carry older TV sets that have been donated for around $25-$100+. They will usually have the TVs plugged in so that you can make sure they are working sets.
