The first step is to get eye re-wetting drops. There are a few things to keep in mind though. Eye drops that are designed to remove redness will not give you any dry eye relief. Also keep in mind that you shouldn't use these if you have contacts in.

Reduce your exposure to irritants in the air which can dry out your eyes. Indoors the best way to do this is to use a good air filtration system. Out doors wear sunglasses to protect you from sun and dust.

Omega 3 fatty acids help your body produce tears, so eating foods such as fish and seafood can also help with dry eye relief.

Step 4
You can go to your optometrist and get a small device inserted in your eye to help prevent your tears from draining. These are called lacrimal plugs or punctal plugs.
