Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Resume
  • Initiative
  • determination
  1. Step 1

Take stock of your situation. Do you have enough savings to go on a prolonged job search or do you need to be working right now? Make a list of people you know and who they work for. Sign up for unemployment so you have some money coming in.

  2. Step 2

Map out your plan. you should now consider a job search your full time job. Create a winning resume. Make sure you have a job specific cover letter. Nothing turns off a prospective employer faster than a generic cover letter.

  3. Step 3

The Internet is useful, but make sure to spend some time offline in your job search. Too many people only look at the job boards and ignore other avenues of possible employment. If you need a job right away look at the local hospitals. They are always hiring and once you get your foot in the door there is room to grow.

Tips & Warnings
  • Dress for success on the interview. Casual dress shows a lack of respect for the job.
  • Don't be afraid of rejection. If ten companies don't hire you, but one does you are a success in your job search.
  • Don't despair if you cannot find something. The economy is awful.
  • If your dream job is not available then maybe you could take your daydream job for a while.
