Pollen Spores

Warm weather and blooming flowers brings pollen and allergic reactions. Which becomes a severe problem for people with allergies.

Pollen and allergies do not mix.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

You can't avoid pollen altogether because it is produced by grasses, trees, flowers, and weeds. However you can minimize the misery.

You can do things around the house to minimize it and also see an allergists for treatment.

  2. Step 2

    Know your pollen count.

Pollen can begin to affect people with allergies at a level of 4.

  3. Step 3

Stay indoors when pollen counts are high.

Shut windows, and use the air conditioner. The biggest problem people who are sensitive to pollen have is when the pollen is heaviest and the temperature outside is the highest.

Do not sleep with the windows up.

  4. Step 4

Its best to avoid outdoors during high pollen count. Plants pollinate from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Windy days are worst than calm days. Wind stirs the pollen around.

  5. Step 5

Protect yourself from pollen when you go outside. Wear a mask to filter out the pollen. You can purchase these at any paint store or hardware store.

If you are on allergy medication take it before going outside.

  6. Step 6

Keep pollen from following you inside the home. Change your clothes, and take a shower to rid your body of as much pollen as possible.

    Wash or rinse your hair.

  7. Step 7

Talk to your health care provider if your allergies are bad or get worse. Ask your doctor about preventive treatment, antihistamines, or inhaled steroids.

There are allergy shots that can be taken if your allergy is severe enough.
