Things You'll Need:
- Time for reflection
- Contact with their work
- Ability to share your feelings
-
Step 1
Obituaries confirm death, most of the time.Take a moment for yourself and process the news. The first step in the grieving process is usually denial or disbelief. You may want to double check the star's fan site or confirm news reports on multiple sites. we tend to deny the loss has taken place, and may withdraw from our usual social contacts. This stage may last a few moments, or longer.
-
Step 2
Get mad. This is the second step in the grieving process. Express your hurt and frustration: write a blog post about how you feel, yell at the tv news report, hit a punching bag. While anger is a natural response to loss, it's not a very productive one, so you'll be able to mourn your favorite celeb more honorably once you move past your anger.
-
Step 3
Allow yourself time to be depressed. Spend this time watching your favorite pieces of the celebrity's work. Remember, you'll always have their legacy even after the celebrity passes on. If you feel numb and disaffected do your best to keep in mind how the deceased celeb would act and follow suit.
-
Step 4
During this period of mourning do small things that remind you of the star. Perhaps you could adopt his signature phrase or wear a knock-off version of her look. You may want to visit the grave or attend the viewing.
-
Step 5
Slowly move toward acceptance.
