Alright all you coffee drinkers and gardeners out there, here's some cool tips on how to recycle your wet coffee grounds. You can use your used wet grounds from making coffee to improve your garden!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Cut Down on Your Waste

Using coffee grounds in farms and gardens not only cut down on waste but also benefit your plants and crops. Coffee grounds enrich your soil with nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, carbohydrates, vitamins and some caffeine

  2. Step 2

    Benefits

Using coffee grounds will give your plants more life. Nitrogen is hard to acquire for most plants so this is a great way to inject some nitrogen in your fertilizer.

  3. Step 3

How to Use the Grounds in Compost

The nice thing is the filters will break down in the compost pile too. So just throw the coffee filter with the grounds into your compost pile. This will increase nitrogen balance in your compost pile

  4. Step 4

Mixing Grounds into a Fertilizer and Sprinkling

You can sprinkle coffee grounds around your plants right before it rains or you are going to water. Fertilizer Mixture: Grab a 5 gallon bucket and fill it with water. Then add a half pound of wet coffee grounds and mix in. Let the mixture sit outside for awhile to get to the right temperature and mix properly.

  5. Step 5

    Insect Repellant

By circling your plant with coffee grounds and eggshells it actually repels insects! Double Bonus!

Tips & Warnings
  • Nice way to cut your waste and recycle back into the environment
  • Great natural Insect Repellant!
