By Shopping Around to Various Locations, you can cut your grocery bill in half

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Newspaper
  • Phone Book
  • Internet
  • Car - Transport
  1. Step 1

This is just so simple and it just takes some homework

  2. Step 2

Make a list - By making a list you avoid spending more than you need to.

  3. Step 3

Go to your directory - Phone Book, Internet or Local Newspaper. I suggest you find stores that sell in bulk as well as locating any of the many Dollar Stores in your area. Dollar Stores are key for my family. Also clip coupons if you have the patience to do so. I personally do not, but I spend less on groceries than anyone I know without using coupons. I just pace myself and watch for sales.

  4. Step 4

Start in the Dollar Store. You can find non-perishables for a fraction of what you pay in the stores. Buy bottled & canned goods as well as spaghetti, macaroni, ramen noodles, crackers, cookies, trail mix, bottled water, soda, cleaning supplies etc.

  5. Step 5

Buy in bulk! Watch for your local grocery store to have their case lot sales. Save up for these events, they are worth waiting for. Buy the things you use most often, such as tuna, chili, spaghetti sauces etc.

  6. Step 6

Lastly, buy store brand items. Especially in this economy. I find the store brand mayo is just as good as name brand, but I pay almost a dollar less per bottle. Its time to break old spending habits if money has become tight.
