Things You'll Need:
- an e-bay account
- a pay-pal account
- items to sell on e-bay
- shipping supplies
-
Step 1
If you do not have an e-bay account, simply create on. It's free. You must have at least a score of 10 on your positive feedback to become a seller on e-bay---so to do this you will need to purchase a few items to create a feedback score which will allow for you to become a seller.
-
Step 2
If you do not have a Pay-pal account, you will need to create one of these as well. Just go to paypal.com to sign up. It's free. The directions on how to do this are self-explainable. Just follow the steps to create your free account.
-
Step 3
Go thru your house looking for the things that you would be willing to sell. Anything that you don't use any more, or clothing item,s your children have outgrown. Shoes, light fixtures, handbags, etc. There are some rules on what you can or cannot sell on e-bay, but they are clear on this. So, you do need to read the rules on e-bays selling policies if you have any questions.
-
Step 4
Log into your e-bay account, and click the tab that says sell. You will see a page that has "see what it's worth" space for you to type in your items and you can see the average it goes for on e-bay that way. OR you can do a search on e-bay to look for similar items and judge for yourself how much you will place your items for sale. You also need to consider if you want to charge anything for shipping & handling. Keep in mind that shipping costs can get kinda pricey, depending on what and where it is going.
-
Step 5
Once you decide the price tag; list your item for sale (use the sell tab again) Now; E-bay does charge a small insertion fee, and once you sell your item they will charge a small percentage of the price, as well. You will be notified by e-mail once your items sell. You can also keep track of how many people have viewed, bidded, and are watching your listed item on E-bay.
