Does your family love moist, chewy, chocolatey brownies? This home-made mix will make it easy for you to stir up a warm batch of brownies in the blink of an eye. Follow my easy directions for brownie success!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 6 c. all purpose flour
  • 4 t. baking powder
  • 8 c. sugar
  • 8 oz. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • large bowl
  • whisk or mixing spoon
  • large Tupperware or Rubbermaid type container for storage
  1. Step 1

Combine all of your dry ingredients in a large bowl. A wire whisk works great for this, you want to get your cocoa, flour, baking powder, salt and suger evenly mixed up.

  2. Step 2

Now put your brownie mix in your large plastic container. Rubbermaid makes some great plastic canisters for this, as does Tupperware. Put a label on your container, stating that it holds your brownie mix and the date that you mixed it up. Your brownie mix will be good for about 6 months.

  3. Step 3

Keep your container of brownie mix in a cool, dry place, out of the sun. Rubbermaid and Tupperware both make containers that fit nicely in your cupboard or on a pantry shelf.

  4. Step 4

When you are ready to mix up a batch of these fantastic brownies, you will need these added ingredients. 1/4 c. melted butter2 eggs, beaten well1 t. vanilla extract1/2 . chopped nuts (optional)

  5. Step 5

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and while it is heating up, grease an 8 inch square pan. Combine your melted butter, eggs, vanilla and 2 1/4 c. of your brownie mix. Beat this up with a whisk or a wooden spoon untill it is smooth and chocolatey. If you are using nuts, you can stir them in now.

  6. Step 6

You could also add other ingredients to your brownies to make them more decadent, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, coconut, I have use raspberry flavored chips also for a very rich, company-style brownie. If you want to add any of these to your chocolatey brownies, do that now.

  7. Step 7

Pour your brownie batter into your greased pan and pop it in the oven for about 30-35 minutes. Breath deep, your home will soon be filled with an irresistable chocolatey aroma and your mouth will begin watering. Don't overbake them, especially if you like moist chewy brownies. Let them cool (as long as you can stand it without scooping one up, hehe), and cut into squares.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can frost your brownies if you like, using a butter-cream or even a cream-cheese frosting.
  • Use your brownies to make hot-fudge brownie sundaes, especially when they are still warm. Top a brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, hot fudge sauce, whipped cream, and a cherry.  mmmmmm!
  • You can double this recipe for a family sized batch, just bake it in a 9x13 inch cake pan. You may have to increase the baking time a bit.
