How to Live With No Dental Insurance
If you have no dental insurance you have to take good care of your teeth all the time. You also need to be extra careful because if you have an accident like crashing on roller blades into concrete face first, how are you going to pay for the damage? Sometimes it can be thousands of dollars.
When you have no dental insurance you worry about dental problems because you know you cannot afford to get expensive dental work and most likely you will have to pull the tooth or teeth.

With no dental insurance one of the first things you must do is brush and floss several times a day. A good toothbrush is a must have too. Wore out toothbrush's are worthless! I carry all my teeth cleaning items with me in a bag. Bacteria can cause gum disease and the next thing you know gum's are bleeding when you brush.
A really good mouthwash is needed as well, I like Listerine since it tastes so awful you know it's killing everything in there.

Another thing you need to do is learn to clean your own teeth. I'm not talking about just brushing and flossing, but to really clean them like the dentist with cleaning tools. You can buy them at the drugstore and after a while you get pretty good at it. They're just like the tools the real dentist uses and they last forever. I've had mine for 15 years now.

You will also need to find good dental clinics that will take you in an emergency situation. Make it a point to know where they are and what type of payment plan you can get. At the clinic it's like an ER you have to wait for hours so plan to be there a good part of a day. It's first come first serve.

Lastly, when you have no dental insurance you need to avoid foods and drinks that are bad or hard on teeth like sweets, candy, sticky foods like taffy, caramel, raisins etc. Drinks like coffee/tea leave stains. Also avoid hard brushing, take it easy.
Additionally, you want to eat and drink the foods that are good for teeth. Some of those include high calcium items like milk, cheese, yogurt, cereal and grains, green leafy vegetables and fish.
Heck, even if you do have dental insurance these are good tips, right? The bottom line is take good care of your teeth either way.
