Having a wedding and you would like to cut the cost as much as possible?
Are you planning a simple wedding? Maybe some of these tips will be of some help to you.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Set a budget and stick to it. To do this , make a list of the items that are important to you, if photos are more important than flowers, hire a professional photographer and have a single rose or a simple arrangement for the bride to carry.

  2. Step 2

Have your wedding schedule for a Friday or a Sunday. Venues often cost less to rent when your wedding is not on a Saturday. You can also have your wedding and reception at the same place.

Ask the wedding vendors for a discount. The worst thing they can say is no.

  3. Step 3

If some one else is having a wedding in your location the same weekend ask them it they would like to share the cost for the ceremony flowers at the reception.

  4. Step 4

Use disposable dinnerware instead of china and glass. There are biodegradable options which you can choose from too, but they are a little more expensive.

Have your wedding in mid afternoon and serve cake and punch or champagne instead of having a meal.

  5. Step 5

Check resale shops for gowns and tuxes that have never been worn, or with minimal wear. Or you might think of using a less traditional attire that may be cheaper.

  6. Step 6

Borrow items like cake knife or toast goblets, the ring bearer pillow or flower girl baskets. If the bride wears a veil borrow it. Many of these items can be purchased online at wholesale prices.

  7. Step 7

Make use of talented friends who might be musicians, photographers, chefs, or dress designers.
You can hire high school music students to play for the ceremony. Make sure you check them and listen to them before you hire them.

Tips & Warnings
  • Trim your guest list
  • Settle for a D. J. instead of a band
  • Use cash instead of a credit card.

on 3/24/2009 Don't forget the opportunity for great savings that using a relatives nicely landscaped property can present. As long as there is sufficient parking for the number of guests expected the couple could save nearly the entire cost of the venue rental plus a significant portion of the floral cost.
