Being sexy is, for the most part, about being comfortable with yourself. This article is geared towards women looking for love. We may often conjure up images in our minds of a "sexy" woman and think that we would never in a million years fit into that little box we've made up in our mind. Well, think again! Sexy comes in all sizes, shapes, colors, ages, and walks of life!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • At least a few items of clothing that make you feel good.
  • A thorough knowledge of who you are - and not being afraid to show it!
  • Things in life that you are passionate about.
  • Friends and family who make you feel good about yourself - and vice versa!
  1. Step 1

The number one thing a sexy woman has to offer is her personality. If a woman knows who she is and is true to herself, that is the most beautiful thing I can think of. Now, many women have the misconception that if they can't get any guy they want, then they are not sexy. That is absolutely not true!

A good friend of mine feels that if there are twenty guys in a room and that not all twenty of them are into her, she has lost the battle. One day I just told her, "You are a beautiful, wonderful, and smart woman. But just as you have preferences in types of men that turn your head, the same goes for women! Not every man in the world would drool over Angelina Jolie...they might be more the Jennifer Aniston type. It's just something you have to deal with." She has had a better outlook since then!

So, recap step one: Know who you are and what style works for you!

  2. Step 2

The next step that goes hand-in-hand with step one is to be in touch with your passions. Nothing is sexier than a woman who is passionate about something and wants to shout it from the rooftops! It doesn't matter if it's sports, religion, the outdoors, cars, or what - just know what your passions are.

If you're talking to a guy you just met, and you ask him what he is passionate about, he is going to love having the spotlight put on him, and "passionate" sounds so much better than "What are you into?" or something wimpy like that! When he turns the question on you, make sure that you are true to yourself and tell him all about the things you are passionate about, even if you think he may not agree with them (religion, an activist group, etc.) You will never regret being true to yourself - if the man disagrees with what you are into, to a point that they do not even want to pursue a friendship, then you are much better off for having been upfront. Holding fast to your convictions is sexy!

  3. Step 3

Clothing is a big topic when it comes to definitions of sexy. If you had to think of "sexy" in your mind right now, would you think of a Victoria's Secret model with gorgeous hair and a cleavage-baring top? I know a lot of women who would.

I'm here to tell you, that's all nonsense. You can work with whatever body shape, color, and size God gave you. Trust me!

Every woman, no matter how satisfied or dissatisfied with her body she is, has at least a few items of clothing that once she puts them on, she feels magical. Now, here's the key: I don't care if your sexiest item is a pencil skirt that you wear to work that hugs your curves and shows off your strong calves. If that is your one great item, use it, even for going out on the weekend! I know, there are a lot of people that never wear their work clothes out unless they are having dinner or drinks after work. But it doesn't have to be like that! If you are going to a casual place, dress down your skirt by wearing sandals, no nylons, and a cute-casual top. You can even dress down a work top by wearing a jean jacket over it.

  4. Step 4

The same goes for accessories. If you feel like a million bucks when you wear your fedora, or that beret that you bought in Paris, then just wear it! It'll not only be a great conversation starter for something you're passionate about, but you'll have that extra little skip in your step that you get when you know you are lookin' good!

Now I know what you're thinking. You only wear that hat when you are home alone and singing to yourself in the mirror. It doesn't matter if your friends have never seen it before or had ever fathomed you wearing a hat...just do it! They will applaud your sense of adventure, dahling!

  5. Step 5

Last but not least, only choose to spend your spare time with positive, uplifting people - nobody who tears you down! It's easy to feel like a princess when the good vibes are flowing with good friends, so make sure to stay away from the witches!

on 5/20/2009 Excellent article about being sexy. I like that it is about personality and style rather than just what you wear and how you flaunt it.
