One of my favorite desserts is Cheesecake. This elegant, rich, mouthwatering, food is delicious, and there are different variations. I love, and make the Philly New York Cheesecake. At first I was afraid and unsure if I could bake such a gourmet dessert, but I did it..."and if I can"! You can too!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 9-inch spring-form pan.
  • 1-cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 3-Tbsp. sugar
  • 3-Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
  • (For the filling)
  • 4 pkg. Philly Cream Cheese, softened (8 oz. each)
  • 1-cup of sugar
  • 3-Tbsp. flour
  • 1-Tbsp. vanilla
  • 4-eggs
  • 1-cup of sour cream
  • (Topping)
  • 1-can cherry pie filling or 1-can blueberry pie filling.
  • You can also use fresh strawberry on top.
  1. Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

  2. Step 2

For the crust: Mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar and butter; press onto the bottom of the spring form pan. Bake for 10 minutes.

For Filling: Beat cream cheese, sugar flour and vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add eggs, (1) at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition, just until blended. Blend in sour cream. (you can add all kinds of ingredients to the filling, such as fruit & chocolate) pour over crust.

  4. Step 4

Bake 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes or until the center of the cheesecake is almost set. Take a metal spatula or knife around the rim of the pan to loosen the cheesecake; cool cheesecake completely before removing rim from around the cake. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.

I sometimes use heart shaped or miniature spring-form pans. They are fun to use and will add a nice touch.

A nice topping for cheesecake is your favorite candy bar crumbled on top! If you decide to use candy bars, put on only after the cheese cake has cooled completely. Get creative, it's about what you like!
