Step 1
open up your web browser and open up a search engine like google or yahoo.
type MY IP into the search field and the first page linked should show you your ip address. -
Step 2
another way to find out your ip address is to go to the start menu on a windows xp pc and Click on RUN
Then enter cmd into the window and hit enter. -
Step 3
If you are on a windows vista or windows 7 pc, Just type cmd into the search field and After a few seconds of searching it will show an icon. Click on the icon to open a command shell.

Step 4
Once you are in a command shell it should look like c:\Users\yournamehere
type ipconfig and press enter
It will show you your local ip address given to you by your router along with your ip address given to you by your internet provider
