Make Great Pizza Without the Fuss
Make Great Pizza Without the Fuss

I once had a Sicilian tell me my pizza was the best he had ever tasted. If you are interested in my secrets, here goes.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pillsbury ready made pizza dough
  • Shredded cheese
  • Your favorite pizza toppings
  • A pizza pan
  • An oven at 450 degrees
  • Roughly 1 tablespoon of cornmeal
  1. Step 1

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Farenheit and coat a baking sheet big enough to hold a 14 inch diameter pizza with with cooking spray or olive oil.

  2. Step 2

You can find the perfect crust in the refrigerated section of any grocery store, right next to the eggs and dairy creamer. Look for the Pillsbury tubes of either "pizza dough" or "French bread." It is easier to find the French bread, and in reality, once you open it, it is just the same as the pizza dough. Simply take the tube of French bread and unroll it into a sheet, just as you would be instructed to do with the pizza dough.

  3. Step 3

Spread roughly a tablespoon of cornmeal on the oiled surface of the pan. Flatten the piece of dough onto the greased and cornmealed cookie sheet, then coat the raw dough with 1-2 tsps. of olive oil. Top this with 1 tsp of minced garlic.

  4. Step 4

I buy my pizza sauce, but feel free to substitute your own. This is spread over the dough, followed by layers of whatever you like on pizza, followed by shredded Mozzarella cheese and a dusting of Parmesan.

  5. Step 5

Put in the oven and reduce the heat to 400 degrees. Bake until edges of crust are brown and cheese is bubbling.
