Things You'll Need:
- Pumpkin seeds, garden soil, furtilizer, shovel, water.
-
Step 1
You can make your own Pumpkin patch. It takes a little work but It's alot of fun. I remember when I was a kid and I planted my first Pumpkin Patch. I was so thrilled that I thought I would pass this on so that another child or adult could experience what I did. I'm 50 now and I still plant mine every year. LOL!!!
-
Step 2
First you need a pumpkin. Take all of the seeds out of it and clean most of the pulp out of them. Dry them in the sun for a few days. While they are drying you need to dig your garden. I dig mine about shovel deep, remove all rocks and roots. That is fun for me. Then add your garden soil and your fertilizer and mix it all up.
-
Step 3
Make some raised rows for irrigation purposes. Make the rows so that you dont go all the way to the ends of your garden. So the water can get through. Plant your seeds on the tops of the raised rows about 2 inches apart. Let the water flow through only at the bottoms of your rows. If you water the tops at this point you will wash your seeds away.
-
Step 4
After your plants start to grow then you can sprinkle the tops. Keep it fertilized, depending on what kind of soil you have. And full sun unless you live in Phoenix. Thats where I grew up.
