How to use the internet to find good talent.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The hiring manager should not use popular job boards such as Careerbuildler or Monster.com. The state of the country's economy and the high rate of unemployment results in an inundation of resumes. Hiring managers waste valuable human resources and time sorting through the myriads of electronically transmitted resumes.

  2. Step 2

Most of these resumes submitted to job boards may not be what the hiring manager is looking for. These resumes end up being stockpiled in a history file of resumes waiting to be reviewed. Consider that the rate of unemployment is reaching upwards to 10% and the number of unemployed people have increased. The state of the economy means that more people are submitting their applications to the popular such as Monster.com and CareerBuilder.

  3. Step 3

The job seeker should research the company of their choice for employment and then apply on the company's website. This selective process will give the employee a direct link into the company instead of getting lost in a sea of resumes and job boards. The hiring manager will be able to distinguish more easily the best person for the job because of the availability of the application on the company website instead of a job board.
