How to Build a Skate Bench
Building your own skateboarding bench makes practicing and perfecting your tricks convenient. It takes some elbow grease, but making a skate bench is easy enough for most teenage boys.
Things You'll Need

- 3-inch screws
- Drill
- Liquid nail
- Hacksaw
- Ruler
- Rag
Instructions
-
-
1
Make sure that your bench has a lip ample enough for the aluminum molding to be attached. Mark points on one side of the molding approximately every 8 inches.
-
2
Drill screw holes into the molding with drill.
-
-
3
If the molding is longer than the bench, use a hacksaw to trim it to size.
-
4
Coat the edge of the bench where the molding will be attached with a layer of liquid nail. The liquid nail should be generous, but not too thick.
-
5
Attach the aluminum molding to the bench. Hold it in place firmly to set. If you have carpenters clamps, use them to hold the molding in place. Wipe away any excess liquid nail along the edges with a wet rag.
-
6
Let the liquid nail dry for 10 minutes.
-
7
Drill the screws into the holes until they're flat against the surface of the aluminum molding.
-
8
Repeat all steps on the other side of the bench.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure to drill screws in the side of the bench (rather than the top) to ensure a smooth ride.
