- 12 ice cubes
- 1 ounce tequila
- 2 ounces orange liquer
- 1 ounce fresh squeezed lime juice
- 1/2 sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- Small saucepan
- Blender
- Cocktail glasses
- Basting brush
- Small plate
- Kosher salt

Place 6 cubes of ice in an electric blender. Blend until the ice is finely chopped.

Add the tequila to the chopped ice. Also add the orange liquer and the lime juice. Blend on "pulse" mode to mix thoroughly.

Make simple syrup. In a small saucepan, mix sugar and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar is completely dissolved. Lower heat to a simmer until sugar mixture thickens.

Add the simple syrup to the tequila mixture, then add remaining ice cubes and blend until the mixture forms a slushy consistency.
