A candy wrapper purse is a fun accessory for fashion, and it is just as fun eating all of the candy to make the purse. In order to make the candy wrapper purse, take at least six of the wrappers from your favorite candy, keeping them intact and trimming the edges off the wrappers to make all of the sides even. Four wrappers create a small satchel, but you can create a candy wrapper purse as large as you desire.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Candy wrappers from favorite candy
  • Scissors
  • Clear duct tape
  • Needle and strong rayon thread
  • Sturdy lightweight cardboard
  1. Step 1

Decide how large you want your candy wrapper purse to be, and make sure you have enough wrappers. Lay three of the wrappers out lengthwise, onto a section of cardboard. Cut around the wrappers through the cardboard to create a reinforcement for the first side of the candy wrapper purse.

  2. Step 2

Wrap clear duct tape smoothly over the candy wrappers and around the cardboard. It should resemble a sturdy square or rectangle (depending on the size of the candy wrappers) with a glossy finish.

  3. Step 3

Lay the three other candy wrappers out lengthwise onto another section of cardboard. Cut around the wrappers through the cardboard to create a reinforcement backing for this other side of the candy wrapper purse. Use clear duct tape and repeat the same wrapping procedure with as you did with the other side of the purse. Make sure they are even and resemble each other if you place the purse pieces side by side.

  4. Step 4

Place both purse pieces upside down next to each other, with the longest side touching that will be the bottom of the purse. Use clear duct tape to secure these two pieces together. Once completed, fold up each side to create the appearance of a purse that isn't secured on the left or right side yet.

  5. Step 5

Use the needle and strong thread, and start the stitching process on the left side of the purse. Start at the top where the ends meet, and stick the needle through the duct tape and cardboard. This will be difficult since the material is very thick, so try to use a large needle. Loop it through the hole and stick it back into the purse edge on the other side, closing the opening shut. Repeat this stitching procedure down the left side, across the bottom, and up the right side, securing the thread with a strong knot when you reach the top.

  6. Step 6

Make sure all the sides and the bottom are securely stitched with no weak places or holes.
