Instructions

    • 1

Find some thin cardboard that is not too thick that will be used for the board. Use the binding at the end of a spiral notebook because it is of stronger material than most cardboard.

    • 2
      Excerpt from a Catalog

Visit a skateboard gear website. Sign up to receive a mail-order catalog. The catalog is used for the Fingerboard deck images.

    • 3

Choose a deck design from the catalog. Cut out the boards you think will look the coolest on your finger board. Cut out your deck with scissors once you have chosen your desired style.

    • 4
      Finger Skateboard Deck

Use your design as a template for the finger board. Place your deck design on to the cardboard. Trace along the edges with a pencil; try not to draw onto your design. Cut the board out when you are done.

    • 5
      Sandpaper Used for Grip Tape

Trace your board on the back of the sandpaper. Choose sandpaper with a low grit that is not too rough. Make sure your board, deck design and sand paper line up perfectly against each other. Make adjustments with your scissors if you notice that a few edges stick out.

    • 6

Color in the rough side of the sand paper with a black marker. This gives the sandpaper its grip tape look.

    • 7

Glue the deck design to one side of the board. A glue stick works best. Do the same thing with the grip tape. Make sure you put enough glue on so that it does not peel off. Press down firmly on each side and wait 10 to 15 minutes for your board to dry. When the glue has dried, bend the edges on each end so that it resembles a skate board. Try learning some tricks and build more to add to your collection.

Tips & Warnings

  • It is possible to make a wooden fingerboard, but this takes more time.
