1
Disconnect the power to your dryer before beginning any work. The dryer can be disconnected by unplugging it from wall outlet. To be extra safe, you can also disconnect by flipping the fuse in your breaker box that controls the dryer.
-
2
Remove the two screws that are at the bottom of the dryer's front panel. There will be a screw in each corner. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws from the panel. Put screws in a safe place so you will have them when it is time to reattach screws.

-
3
Lift up the front panel from the two clips at the top. It will lift right off the clips. Set the front panel to the side.
-
4
Remove the screws holding the cabinet top in place. Usually the cabinet top will need to be removed by removing the two screws found beneath at the corners of the cabinet top. Remove the screws using a screwdriver. Put the screws in a safe place so you can get to them easily when you are ready to reattach the screws to the cabinet top.
-
5
Remove the faulty fuse by using a pair of needle-nosed pliers on the connectors, but not the wires. Wires leading to the thermal fuse are connected using metal slip-on connectors.
-
6
Replace the old dryer fuse with the new fuse. Usually the fuse will fit right back into place with no problem.
-
7
Put your dryer back together. Replace the front panel and replace the screws that were removed. Replace the screws from the cabinet top to finish reassembling the dryer.
-
8
Reconnect the power to the dryer by plugging back into the wall outlet. If you disconnected by flipping the fuse in the breaker box, you will need to flip to turn the power back on.
