How to Tie Skateboard Shoes
Skateboarding is an extreme sport that has grown very rapidly in popularity over the years. This is specifically due to the X Games and the coverage it has received on sports network ESPN. Most people would assume that the board itself is the only important piece of equipment for a skateboarder. However, since skateboarding puts a lot of strain on the feet and ankles, having the correct shoes--and being able to lace those shoes correctly--is crucial to a skateboarder's success.

1
Buy a professional pair of skateboarding shoes. The main difference between skateboarding shoes and regular shoes are the thick extra padding around the ankles.
-
2
Feed the shoelace through the bottom left and right holes in the center of the shoe. Make sure the lace is balanced evenly so that there is the same amount of lace on each side of the holes.
-
-
3
Take the right section of shoelace and feed it through the second hole on the left.
-
4
Take the left section of shoelace and feed in through the second right hole. This will create the appearance of an X shape in the center of the shoe.
-
5
Pull up on the X shape so that the laces are as tight as they can be. Make sure you don't tighten them so tightly that the shoe begins to bend inward.
-
6
Repeat Steps 3 through 5 all of the way up the shoe, making sure to keep them as tight as possible. This is very important when it comes to lacing a pair of skateboarding shoes.
