Things You'll Need:
- Braided loop material
- Bow string
-
Step 1
Cut a 4- or 5-inch section of the braided loop material. (You can get this from any sporting goods store that sells archery equipment.)
-
Step 2
Burn each end of the d-loop material. This will make it a more secure knot that will not slip.
-
Step 3
Wrap the loop material around the bow string, directly above the arrow.
-
Step 4
Cross the left side of the string underneath the right side.
-
Step 5
Cross the end of the string above the part you just went under. (The first motion is under, then the second is over.)
-
Step 6
Wrap the end of the loop material around the bow string, opposite of the way you wrapped it in Step 3. You should now see the D-shape in the loop.
-
Step 7
Pull the tip of the loop material through the middle of the d-shape. With the other end, pull the knot tightly closed. If you burned the material correctly in Step 2, the knot will be tight and will not slip.
-
Step 8
Repeat Steps 3 through 7 again, an inch below your first knot to create the complete bow release loop.
