Things You'll Need:
- Two sheets of plywood
- Detachable folding table legs
- Skillsaw
- Sandpaper
- Screws
- Tape measure
- Felt or velvet
- Foam lining
- Fabric
- Glue or staples and staple gun
-
Step 1
Use the skillsaw to round the corners of the plywood so that you have two identical oval sheets. Sand down the corners so that they are smooth. A regulation table is 96 inches long; however, you can make your table as big or as small as space will allow.
-
Step 2
Cut the middle section out of one of the plywood pieces, leaving a 4- to 6-inch border all the way around.
-
Step 3
Cover the full sheet of plywood with the felt or velvet. Stretch the material out so that it is tight, but not so tight that it raises off the table or creates seams. Staple or glue the felt or velvet to the underside of the table.
-
Step 4
Attach the foldable table legs to bottom of the table. Use screws that are small enough not to come up through the table's playing surface. If desired, you can bypass the expense of the legs by creating only the table top and placing it over an existing table when you want to play "Texas Hold'em."
-
Step 5
Take the piece of plywood you cut in Step 2 and glue the foam lining to the top all the way around the border. Wrap the plywood in the fabric of your choosing and glue or staple it to the bottom of the wood. This will act as an armrest for players.
-
Step 6
Attach the armrest you created in Step 5 to the body of the table by screwing or gluing it down.
