How to Find People on Twitter
Just when you thought you had joined every social network known to the computer age, another one comes along. As with other social networks like MySpace and Facebook, Twitter encourages people searches, with more of an emphasis on networking and interests. Finding people on Twitter is easy once you become familiar with the website's homepage and navigation tools.

Wait for Twitter to find the person who you have entered into the search box. If the person you have entered is a Twitter member, his name will show up in the search. If there is more than one entry for a particular name, you can review the profile of each of the individuals in order to determine which one is the person you are searching for.
Tips & Warnings
You can also find people on Twitter using your personal Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail or MSN contact list. Click on the "Find on other networks" tab above the search box, and Twitter will find people on Twitter who match the names in your contact list.
If you have friends or colleagues that you think may benefit by being a Twitter member, you can click on the tab that reads "Invite by email." A new box will appear that will allow you to enter emails and send Twitter-generated invitations.
If you are interested in broadening your horizons, and would like to find people that are outside of your circle of friends and associates, Twitter also offers a 'Suggested users' list. This list can be found under the "Suggested users' tab that is located above the 'Find People' search box. If your favorite celebrity has a Twitter account, you may just see it.
It is important to remember that you are not the only one who may be looking for people on Twitter. You never know who may be searching your name, so be sure to protect your privacy by not listing any information in your profile that you do not want made public.
