Instructions

    • 1

Clean your hands before touching the piercing with antibacterial soap and water. Use the cotton swab and dab the Neosporin around the screw on the outside and inside of the nose. This is to provide lubrication to get the screw out more easily.

Slide a cotton swab slowly into the nostril where the screw is. Tap on the screw with the swab until you feel it start to budge a little. Do this until you see extra metal coming out of the piercing in your nostril; pay attention to the direction it is moving. Nose screws and studs are not straight, so when they come out, it is at an angle and you need to maneuver the screw out at this angle.

    • 3

Pull the screw out with your fingers once enough metal is appearing from the piercing hole. Slowly pull the screw out, making sure not catch the back of it on your nostril anywhere.

    • 4

Set the screw in a small glass with some hydrogen peroxide solution in it to clean and disinfect it.

    • 5

Use a cotton swab to dab hydrogen peroxide solution on the outside of the piercing, as well as the inside. Use another cotton swab to dab Neosporin in the same areas to moisturize and protect.

  • Make sure that you are pulling the screw out at the angle it is made so you do not injure your nose or skin. Always make sure your hands are disinfected before handling any piercings or piercing holes.
