With all the hair care products out there, it is easy to find yourself dealing with damaged hair. Depending on the problem, there are home treatments you can use to have your hair looking more soft and smooth without spending all the money on fancy products.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Red wine
  • Eggs
  • Mayonnaise
  • Avocado
  • Heated towel
  • Cornstarch or baby powder
  1. Step 1

For frizzy hair, try a red wine and egg concoction. Mix the two ingredients, and lather into your hair before washing. The proportions will vary based on the length of your hair, but 1/2 cup of wine and 2 eggs is sufficient for medium length hair. Let the mixture sit in your hair for 5 minutes before rinsing and washing your hair as normal.

  2. Step 2

Repair dry, damaged hair with mayonnaise. Lather your hair with it before your shower, using about as much of it as you would regular conditioner. Wrap your hair in a heated towel straight from the dryer and leave it on for 15 minutes. Then rinse the mayo from your hair and wash and condition as normal. Doing this 1 or 2 times a week should help repair your hair.

  3. Step 3

Add avocado to mayonnaise if the mayo alone doesn't help. Peel and remove the pit from an avocado. Combine half of the avocado with 1 cup of mayo, and mix with your hands until the mixture is a light green color. Lather your hair with the mixture, wrap with a heated towel for 15 minutes, then rinse, wash and condition as you did with the mayo by itself.

  4. Step 4

Sprinkle your head with cornstarch or baby powder if you have damaged hair that is oily. Allow the dry product to sit for 5 minutes, then comb it out of your hair. The dryness of the powder should soak up most of the oils, leaving your hair looking and feeling more normal.

Tips & Warnings
  • Visit your hairstylist once a month for trims. This will help reduce the chances of damaged split ends and they can sometimes provide you with remedies based on your hair problem.
