Don't waste your hard-earned money on fire starters from the store. They are often expensive and can produce harmful chemicals. You can easily make a homemade fire starter using recyclable items from around the house for free. Save space in your trash can and start your fire at the same time.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dryer lint
  • Cardboard egg carton
  • Candle wax
  1. Step 1

    Fill the spaces in a cardboard egg carton with dryer lint.

  2. Step 2

    Pack the dryer lint tightly.

  3. Step 3

    Pour melted candle wax over the dryer lint.

  4. Step 4

    Close the egg carton, then pour more melted candle wax into the cracks on the top.

  5. Step 5

    Allow the wax to dry overnight before using.
