How to Clean Hard Film Off Drink Glasses
Hard water is a buildup of calcium and magnesium that lingers on glasses when warm water is cooled and dried. It poses no real threat other than being an eyesore. It leaves streaks, spots and an unfortunate film that clings to glasses with a relentlessness that goes beyond irritating. Fortunately, hard-water film is easily removed with a lot less effort than one may think. Hard water may have tenacity, but we have vinegar. Does this Spark an idea?

Fill the sink with warm, soapy water. Use whatever dish soap is handy. Dawn and Lemon Joy work particularly well.

Pour in 2 cups of vinegar.

Set the glasses in the sink to soak for at least 15 minutes.

Scrub the glasses with a sponge or soft, clean cloth to remove any residual film or spots.

Rinse the glasses in warm, clean water.

Dry the glasses with a soft, clean, dry cloth.

Tips & Warnings
If you're washing dishes in the dishwasher, add a cup of vinegar before the dishes come to the dry cycle. This will help to prevent the hard-water buildup.
