Digital cable is nice. It looks great and sounds even better. Flat-screen televisions allow us to get crisper pictures compared to older televisions. Digital cable is, however, quite expensive, and it seems that the cost of digital cable is rising all the time. Digital cable from Comcast, for example, can cost up to $60 and more if you want to watch Showtime, HBO, or other channel options. Getting free digital cable is possible, and many people are making the switch to save money without turning off the cable.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer Broadband Internet Service (DSL or Cable)
  1. Step 1

Get a free TVU network. This is the only website out there that is offering a way to watch digital cable television for free. It has live television from all over the world. You don't have to wait until the next day to watch your favorite show as you would with other programs such as Hulu or Netflix.

  2. Step 2

Go to the homepage of TVU Network. In the upper righthand corner of the screen you will see a green button that says "Download TVU.".Click it. Read the terms of service before you agree to them. Choose the appropriate download link: There is one for Windows and one for Apple Mac.

  3. Step 3

Download the newest version of TVU Network. You will see a "new" sign flashing next to the newest version of TVU Network. Click on the green download button next to it. This will open up your download box and ask you where you want to download this compressed folder. Download it to your desktop.

  4. Step 4

Right-click on the compressed folder on your desktop that you just downloaded. Choose to extract all of the files and put them in My Documents. Go to My Documents to find the TVU green setup button and click on it. This will bring up your installer program to install the TVU Network.

  5. Step 5

Watch free digital cable television right on your computer. Bring up the TVU Network program. You will see a list of available channels on the left that you can choose from. You can only watch the television shows that are currently airing because it is a live stream, just as you would if you were to turn on your television.

Tips & Warnings
  • To watch free cable that is not live, go to Hulu or Joost (see Resources).
  • Only download this program from the TVU Network (see Resources).
