How to Make a Free Brochure for Lupus

Instructions

1. Download a free Photoshop program (see link in Resources). This free version of Photoshop will allow you to plan and design your lupus brochure. Once you download the program, click on "Page Layout" at the top of the page to create a tri-fold or bi-fold lupus brochure. Using the text tool, you can write anything you like on the brochure. Include helpful information, such as symptoms, clinical studies and steps that people should take if they think they have the disease.

2. Add colorful images to your brochure. You can copy images from any location and paste them right into Photoshop. There are websites on-line, such as Istockhoto and Fotosearch that offer free use of their professional-quality stock images (see links in Resources). Using professional-looking photographs can increase the appeal of your brochure.

3. Save your work to a local file on your computer. Any time your make changes to your brochure, make sure to save your updated work. When your brochure is complete, save your image in JPG format, using at least 300 DPI, or dots per inch. You will need your brochure to be in the correct format in order for it to upload properly.

4. Register for a free account with CafePress, a print-on-demand company that offers a free account and allows you to buy your products at cost, meaning there is no markup. To register, go to the CafePress website (see link in Resources). Then complete all the information for signing up and click on "Manage Sections and Products." Inside that section, you can create and post your new items. Once you have your lupus brochure designed, you can upload it to this page to print it.

5. Buy your brochures at cost. To buy your brochure at cost, click on the link in CafePress that is called "Buy Your Own Products." It can be found at the bottom of the page in your account. This will allow you to purchase your lupus brochure in bulk with no markup. You get your brochure set up and made for free and also are allowed to purchase the brochures at cost. Now you can deliver information about lupus in a cost-effective way.
