How to Install ActiveX Controls in Facebook
In order for all of the features and applications to properly work on facebook, the developers will use Active X technology to ensure that the programs work properly. ActiveX is a technology used only in Internet Explorer. However, this is only true if each person understands how to install Active X controls in facebook. The process to install is fairly simple, but important to know if any of the features you are trying to access use ActiveX.

Find the "Tools" menu in the menu bar on the top of the page and click on it. For Internet Explorer 6 users, the toolbar is likely on the top of the screen somewhere toward the middle. However Internet Explorer 7 users will likely find this the "Tools" menu on the far right side of the screen, just below the top of the screen.

After clicking on the "Tools" menu, a drop down menu should appear. In this drop down menu you should be able to find and click on the "Internet Options" option.

Find the "Security" tab. This is probably going to be the second tab from the left. Look on the window that opens up for the "Custom level" button. This button is found about 2/3 the way down the window in the center. Click on the "Custom level" button.

Scroll down this page until the "ActiveX Controls and plug-ins" section appears. Double click on the title and approximately 10 sub-options will open up below the ActiveX Controls and plug-ins section. In each of these sub options, click on the options that have the word "Recomended" listed next to it. Click "OK."

Restart Internet Explorer and navigate back to the page on facebook where ActiveX controls are needed. You now should be able to install ActiveX controls without a problem. Simply click on the yellow bar when it appears and select "Allow" when prompted.

Tips & Warnings
ActiveX Controls are not valid when using Safari or Firefox. If you want to be able to use these controls, you must use an Internet Explorer browser.
Unless you know what you are doing, do not select any of the ActiveX options that are listed as "Not Recommended." Doing so could expose your computer to viruses and malware.
