Anyone who has played the game of golf can attest to how frustrating the game can be. A millimeter adjustment in your swing can determine whether you shank it through the trees or drive it clean and straight. Keeping a few things in mind will help you hit the ball straighter with ease.
Things You'll Need
- Golf ball
- Driving range
Grip the club using more pressure from your left hand while keeping the right hand relaxed. Stand behind the ball to determine your line and target.
Keep both feet together while standing facing the ball with your left shoulder perpendicular to the target line. Position yourself approximately three-quarters the length of your arm from the ball.
With your left foot, take a small step forward in the direction of your target and take a regular step backward with your right foot keeping both feet shoulder width apart.
With your hands directly over the ball, move them slightly in front of the ball positioned below. This is called a forward press.
Pull the club back, keeping it's line straight to the top of the back-swing. The top is when the club is parallel to the ground. Maintain your stare at the back of the golf ball. The ideal contact point slightly above the equator of the ball.
Thrust the swing forward at the top, in the same path that you brought it back. Be sure to keep your head down at the point of impact on the ball and follow through until the club hits your back.
